How Does The Blend Door Actuator Work
The blend door actuator is a tiny electric motor housed in plastic construction. It is attached to the climate control computer of your car.
Once you fine-tune the temperature control knob, it sends the information to the climate control unit and provides hot or cold air according to the instructions.

How To Calibrate Blend Door Actuator [7 Easy Steps]
Follow the below steps to calibrate the HVAC actuator:
Step 1: Insert the ignition key and turn it to the On position. Then, hit the ‘Auto’ button on the temperature control. Turn your car off once the controller says Auto on its display.
Step 2: Next, go to the fuse box and pull out the fuse for the AC controller system or HVAC actuator. In this case, open your car hood and locate the fuse box. In the 2004 Chevy Silverado, you can find it on the left side in front of the driver’s side.
Step 3: Remove the fuse box cover and take a look at the diagram that helps you find the fuse for the AC controller system. It is a 10-Volt fuse. Just take the fuse off and leave it for a minute.
Step 4: After that, put the fuse for the AC controller system back into its place. And then, put the cover back on.
Step 5: Now, go inside your vehicle and turn on your car. The HVAC system should say Auto. Of course, it should be at 74 degrees Auto, which indicates everything is reset. You should keep your car turned on for 2 minutes. It allows the car HVAC to run a complete cycle like all the little doors inside the AC system will open up and close all the way to recalibrate the blend door actuator.
Step 6: After 2 minutes, turn off your car for 15 seconds.
Step 7: Turn on your car again, and everything should be self-calibrated. Now, it’s time to test whether it completes the calibration cycle or not. So, play with the left knob on the temperature control and move it to the hot. Then, keep your hand in front of the vent to feel the hot air. Again, move the knob to the left or cold and place your hand in front of the vent to check whether cold air is coming or not. If the system passes this test, understand you calibrate the blend door actuator successfully.
